I recently built a Power BI dashboard using World Bank Open Data to explore the relationship between economic performance, public health, and education. This project demonstrates how open global datasets can generate policy-relevant insights.

 🔎 The Objective

To understand how economic and social indicators interact across countries and regions over time. My analysis focused on three key areas: Economic Performance: GDP per capita Public Health Outcomes: Life Expectancy and Child Mortality, Education Indicators: School Enrollment

📊 Key Insights

The analysis highlights several critical trends in global development: Strong Association: A clear link between GDP per capita and life expectancy. Education Impact: Education indicators show a strong negative correlation with child mortality trends. Regional Disparities: Significant gaps remain in development trajectories across different geographic regions. Long-term Monitoring: The data underscores the importance of consistent indicator tracking for informed policy decisions.

 🛠 Technical Implementation

To ensure the data was accurate and the dashboard was performant, I implemented the following: Power Query: Extensive data cleaning and transformation to handle World Bank's multi-year formatting. Data Modeling: Implementation of a Star Schema to organize fact tables and dimensions efficiently. DAX Measures:Developed custom measures for Latest Value, Year-over-Year (YoY) Change, and Dynamic KPIs. Visualizations: Utilized correlation plots and comparative charts to visualize complex relationships.
